Between collar pheasants in central and east Asia, golden pheasant feathers is undoubtedly the most beautiful.Country of origin is China, today lives, half in freedom and in parts of Central Europe.

Golden Pheasant was first brought to Europe in the late nineteenth century.
During mating the male emits a hissing sound, like air pressure coming out of a tire.
Golden pheasant pheasant mate with diamond, producing offspring capable of reproduction. The same can be paired with silver pheasant, and although the male will be fertile female can not have offspring.

Diamond pheasant ( Chrysolophus amheristiae ) is a related species, which occasionally is the cross.
Range
Country of origin is China, north-west of the shelf edge to Hupe in eastern Tibet and on the south by Hunan.Currently nestles in freedom and in some areas of England and Scotland.
Protection of species
China native population seems to perpetuate. Nesting populations in the wild in Britain are pairs 500-1000.
